2 East 8th Short Script Competition: Quarantine Edition
In these uncertain times, small businesses like ours must find a way, not only, to stay afloat financially, but we must find ways to stay creative and inspired every day. We are hoping to accomplish all three by running our first short script competition.
We’re now accepting short film scripts of any genre, ranging from 3 to 15 pages in length. Please note that all submissions must be in proper script format to be accepted.
We know times are hard so we are discounting our original pricing structure to the following:

$15 for generalized notes and feedback. Please note that the feedback for this tier will not exceed one paragraph.

$30 for in depth notes and feedback (length will be dependent upon page count of the script that is submitted).
So what’s in it for you? What makes this screenplay competition different from all of the others and excites us the most?
We will be choosing up to 5 winners that will have their script submission produced by 2 East 8th Productions. That means you have the opportunity to see your words come to life. We’ll consult with you and assist with the financing and production of your screenplay with real actors and real crew. And your name will be right there in the credits.
The quarantine has left all of us more than a little restless so why not take all that pent up energy and put it towards finally writing that screenplay you’ve had in your head? Or submitting the one that’s already done and collecting dust.
Finally, If you are medical personnel, first responder or work at a grocery store or pharmacy that is required to stay open during COVID-19, we want you to know how much we appreciate you and, we will waive your entrance fee for both the $15 and $30 tiers. Deadline for Submission: The end of quarantine (TBD by people much smarter than us) OR July 15th, whichever comes first.

We’re not made of money so the more car chases, explosions and CGI that appear in your screenplay, the less likely it is to be produced (by us anyway). But hey, if you just want notes, we’ll happily provide you with those.

Is my screenplay eligible for production, even if I only choose the $15 option?

Yes, all scripts, in both payment tiers will be considered for production.

Do you accept foreign scripts, or scripts written in a language other than English?

Unfortunately, since we cannot read any languages other than English, it wouldn’t be fair to accept these submissions. So English scripts only, please!
